Gum Diseases and Strokes

Though seemingly unconnected, gum disease is comparable to heart disease according to new research in the UK. The saying that your gums is a very good indicator to your overall health maybe true after all.

Doctors have long associated that diabetes and high blood pressure are two of the most contributory factors to strokes in the UK. There has long been a suspicion between a link that exists between high blood pressure and gum disease that till now remained such.

Studies are showing that there is indeed a link and that the risk gum disease poses is greater that that of the two previous diseases. It shows that something as trivial as oral care can exert such a great impact on one’s health.
